A woman reckons she might be “going mad” after spotting a “huge cat” while on her way to the pub.
Members of the Stickford Village Community Group on Facebook were stunned by a photograph that appears to show a large animal crossing the road in Stickford, Lincolnshire.
It was shared by a startled Alison Kay, who wondered whether it was an elusive big cat or a “loose dog”. Members of the village community attempted to get to the bottom of the mystery, but many were left scratching their heads.

Alison wrote: “We cycled today from midville to the Red Lion and as we stopped on the bridge, we saw what can only be described as a ‘huge cat’.
“We just want to rule out the logical explanation that it was a loose dog, however it quickly disappeared into the fields as quickly as we saw it, and this is the photo we have. I’m a big believer we have big cats in the UK and wondered if anyone can shed any more light on other sightings in the area or are we going mad?! [sic]”
Stickford villagers were shocked to see the animal. One joked: “It’s the Beast of Bodmin Moor on his holidays.” Another claimed there’s a big cat that is frequently spotted nearby. They wrote: “There is a big cat that roams the area it is normally seen near Dysons Grange Farm.”
However, one village member may have cracked the case. They thought the black dog that lives down the road might have gone wandering out on its own. Attaching an image of the dog, they said it “wanders about then goes home”.
Alison seemed satisfied with the explanation and replied: “This actually makes me think now that’s who we saw!”
