An amputee left social media users in stitches after getting a tattoo to honour their missing foot.
The individual, who has not been named, had the photo shared to Reddit where their fresh ink went viral. The tat is positioned on the back of their ankle and shows a tombstone accompanied by the phrase: “One foot in the grave.”
One poster captioned the snap: “I thought it was so funny.” And they weren’t the only ones left giggling, with internet users also chuckling at the creative body art.

One user chimed in: “This is exactly what you were supposed to do! I would make so many stupid jokes. I’m legally blind and have made bad jokes about it my whole life.
“Making jokes about my disability has always helped me get through it. We all need to laugh at ourselves more!”
Another quipped: “Am in a wheelchair, can confirm. Sometimes the jokes and humour are the best part of my day with the disability. Especially the stupid ones! They make me so happy.”
A third said: “Finding a positive out of an unfortunate situation is always fun.” Meanwhile a fourth said: “I’m questioning whether it would be funnier if you got this tattoo before or after the foot was lost.”
“I lost my Lower leg just under 2 years ago and I wanted to get a tattoo on my residual limb and I love this,” another agreed. “Probably the best idea I’ve seen so far.”
Despite the undeniable challenge of facing an amputation, the unnamed recipient of the tattoo is clearly able to see the funny side of life and has the ink to prove it.
