‘My BBL went horribly incorrect – medical doctors stated an infection would burst my bum’

An Instagram influencer who opted for a Brazilian Butt Lift operation to maximise her curves has revealed how the surgery left her with a foul-smelling wound on her bum that turned into a permanent unsightly scar.

Angela Babicz took to her YouTube channel to tell her story and help fans “learn from her mistakes.” She said that she religiously followed all of the surgeon’s instructions: “I did everything that needed to be done. I am literally a plastic surgeon’s wet dream, because I essentially become their poster child after every procedure.

The OnlyFans model explains: “The surgery was difficult recovery was even more difficult but I pushed through, and I was absolutely obsessed with my body. I loved my new shape and I had no issues at first.” But a few months later, all that changed.

“A few months had passed since my surgery,” Angela says, “and I got a call from the facility asking if I could come in to see the doctor. I just thought that this was very, very weird.” She thought that perhaps the clinic wanted her to do some promotional work for them, but it turned out that they wanted to see her to prescribe a course of antibiotics.

Angela explains that strong antibiotics often give her tummy upsets, so she was reluctant to take them. But it was five months after the actual procedure that she started showing worrying symptoms.

Despite the fact that she was still sitting on the special post-op cushion where she travelled, she started experiencing pain and bruising in one of her butt-cheeks. The pain persisted, and when she got home from a trip she decided to check it out: “I stripped down and looked in the mirror and i had a big red spot in the middle of my left butt cheek. It looked like I had been punched.”

Unfortunately, it was just coming up to the long holiday season in the US, but Angela managed to get in touch with her surgeon, and he told her that she needed a debridement – a procedure to remove dead tissue.

But by now, it was Christmas Eve: “Not only are the redness and the swelling back,” Angela says, “but my skin is peeling which means the infection was trying to push through my skin. I contacted my doctor, and he said that if I didn’t go to the ER right away then the infection would poke through my skin like cauliflower.

“I needed to get it drained ASAP and unfortunately because the plastic surgeon’s office was closed for the holiday i would have to go to the ER.” Emergency doctors implanted a loop of sterile material to help the wound drain.

Angela says: “The smell that was coming from the area was absolutely disgusting. It was so incredibly painful, it burned in the shower.” Things got worse, when her immune system began to reject the loop of material.

Angela explains: “My body pushed the loop drain out and created a giant hole in my left butt cheek. That was the most painful thing I have ever experienced in my life.”

Eventually, the clinic re-opened after the holidays and Angela was able to travel down to Miami to see her surgeon: “I get to Miami and the driver of the facility picks me up. Just nonchalantly, I asked him if other patients had experienced this same infection and he said ‘Yeah, a lot,’ and that’s when I knew I was in a world of trouble.”

Angela was told that she had been infected with a water-borne bacteria and needed major surgery to eradicate it: “I would have to be put under general anesthesia, and the entire area would have to be cleaned out as thoroughly as humanly possible to make sure that not a single cell was left behind.

She adds: “At this point this bacteria was just eaten me alive from the inside out so I was willing to take no risks and I went through with the surgery.”

As she went through the painful procedure, Angela learned that she was to be her surgeon’s last patent at that clinic. After the procedure to clear out the infection, she’s been left with a significant raised scar on her bum: “It literally looks like a dog bite. Sometimes i lie and tell people that i got shot just to look cool,” she says.
