Species more than likely to rule Earth in Planet of the Apes takeover in accordance with AI

Humans have often thought of themselves as being at the top of the food chain, with nothing (but our ability to hate each other) looking like really ever stopping our domination.

However, Hollywood has attempted on many occasions to kill us all off, with the latest iteration of that being the Planet of the Apes film series.

So with the latest of those coming out this week, we turned to artificial intelligence to find out what the chances are of other animals destroying us and taking over the world . . . and exactly which animals could do so.

Turning to ChatGTP, the AI-powered large language model guessed that there could be four potential destroyers of humans as well as apes – and one of which will definitely surprise you.

Elephants

Elephants possess complex social structures, high levels of intelligence, and impressive problem-solving abilities. With their large size and strength, they could potentially dominate terrestrial ecosystems and reshape landscapes to suit their needs.

Octopuses

Octopuses are remarkably intelligent marine creatures known for their problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to diverse environments. With their unique abilities, including camouflage and manipulation of objects, they could potentially establish dominance in underwater habitats.

Ants

Ant colonies exhibit remarkable organizational complexity, with intricate communication systems, division of labour, and coordinated collective behaviors. In large numbers, ants could potentially overwhelm and dominate terrestrial ecosystems, shaping landscapes and outcompeting other species for resources

Corvids (crows, ravens etc)

Corvids are highly intelligent birds known for their problem-solving abilities, tool use, and complex social structures. With their adaptability to various environments and keen cognitive skills, corvids could potentially thrive in both urban and natural habitats, outcompeting other species and establishing dominance.

There was a fifth option – dolphins – but ChatGPT ended up going on a bit of rant about the intelligent creatures to the point where it no longer made any sense and the bot ended up contradicting itself.

However, it did state: “Ultimately, it’s important to remember that the evolution of intelligence and civilization is a complex and unpredictable process influenced by various factors such as environmental conditions, ecological pressures, and evolutionary history. While it’s fascinating to speculate, predicting the future evolution of species is highly speculative.”
