Brit shares snap of colleague’s brekkie – and other people say they’d ‘slightly starve’

When it comes to breakfast, everyone does it differently.

Some people like cereal, others prefer a cooked option and some simply have nothing at all. But one person has sent the internet into a spiral after sharing what their colleague tucked into in front of them.

It’s fair to say, when it comes to brekkie, we’ve never seen anything quite like it.

The anonymous person posted a picture of the dish on Reddit, writing: “My coworker’s breakfast – an unholy marriage of scrambled eggs, beans and canned tomatoes.”

In the picture, you can literally see a plate full of scarmbled eggs that are covered with tinned tomatoes and beans. When asked if the person was British, the man replied: “Of course.”

He admitted his mother would have “scoffed” the lot too, but he doesn’t like beans or tomatoes, so it was all a bit off-putting for him. Not what you expect to see when you walk into work in the morning!

Since the snap was shared, more than 100 people have been talking about it, and they just can’t get over how wild British cuisine continues to get. There was also a lot of chat about the nation’s obsession with Baked Beans.

One person said: “Beans, tomatoes and eggs and I’m thinking some delicious Mexican style egg concoction. Then I see the pic and like its oh, ‘Damn its British’.”

Another added: “That’s a serious amount of food to be shoveling into your pie-hole before work. I bet they take a huge dump break too.”

A third replied: “I’m already farting.” Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “I’d rather starve.”

But, despite the harsh comments, many also chimed in to say how much they fancy trying out the bizarre delicacy. One person even claimed it looked “delicious”, and confessed they’d love to chomp it down themselves.

One person said: “I do much the same. Soften some onions and maybe other veg like peppers, whatever you have lying around. Then scramble the eggs into that with some curry spices.

“Once they’re nearly cooked then add tinned tomatoes or passata. It is a bit more sophisticated than this offering though.”

While another wrote: “Give me a couple slices of toast and I’d crush that.”

A third chimed in: “I don’t see a problem here,” while someone else admitted: “I would eat that.”
