Zombie killing Prem workforce assembled – however one star hasn’t clue what apocalypse is

Films about zombie apocalypses have been regular blockbusters at the box office over the past few decades.

The characters in these movies and of course the smash TV series the Walking Dead often consist of a ragtag bunch of unlikely heroes who have to battle against all the odds. The results are varied – some are able to eliminate the rampaging undead, others are subjected to a future on the run from their new zombified overlords, and others, well, get munched.

Scenarios like these have sparked pub debates up and down the country – ‘what would you do in a zombie apocalypse?’ And it was that very conundrum which was put to a host of Premier League stars.

“It’s a question I’ve never been asked about,” James Milner, whose career has now spanned further than the length of time between the two World Wars, joked. At least the Liverpool legend turned Brighton midfielder knew what an apocalypse was – the same couldn’t be said for Matty Cash.

The Aston Villa full-back stumbled over the word apocalypse before he asked: “What’s that? Like with zombie’?” Yes Matty, it’s exactly that.

What Premier League star do you think would survive a zombie apocalypse? Let us know in the comments section

Matty Cash was confused as to what he was being asked

Gabriel Jesus knew one player who would immediately survive the ordeal

Diego Carlos, Gabriel and Lewis Dunk were some of the other top names thrown around as the perfect choice for the usual reasons: strong, intelligent etc, you get the drill. Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga, an admitted fan of The Walking Dead, reckoned he could simply outrun them.

While Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus proposed a slightly different tactic for team-mate Fabio Viera: “Fabio straight away, because he can go there and looks like one of the zombies!”

Liverpool’s rising star Harvey Elliott was also quick to name what team-mate he thinks would survive – and to no surprise for Liverpool fans he picked renowned hothead and erratic striker Darwin Nunez.

Harvey Elliott picked Darwin Nunez to survive the apocalypse

Darwin Nunez would fight everyone, according to Harvey Elliott

Elliott explained: “Darwin Nunez, to be honest, just because he’s crazy. You know he’d just try and fight everyone!” Elliott was then asked if he reckoned he’s be able to survive.

The midfielder joked: “[I’d probably survive] like two seconds.”

Their former team-mate Milner said he’d do “alright” – committing to the Boring Milner gimmick. Thankfully for the Premier League players subjected to the question, it, for now, remains a wild fantasy.

Because if we need Nunez to finish the zombie horde, then let’s be honest, we’ve all got no chance.
