The event came alive when Mia, known online as @yorkshirelassinnewcastle, was caught busting some moves among her friends on the shop floor, equipped with glow sticks.

Surprisingly, the DJ spun his tunes right from the counter, clothed in the store apron. Napkins were whizzed through the air by T-shirt cannons, as partygoers were spotted grooving with their favourite pastries.

The peak of the event was when a Greggs employee took over the microphone chanting to the crowd: “When I say sausage, you say roll.”

The strong crowd responded in a shower of red confetti. In a viral clip which gained over 136,000 likes, Mia reflected, “POV: You went to a rave inside Northumberland St Greggs.”

Further adding in the caption remark: “I can now say I’ve been to a rave inside Greggs.”

TikTok users were left stunned by the clip as they rushed to the comments wanting to go to a Greggs rave too. One person wrote: “Kinda wish my shop was like this now, it would make working there more fun.”

While others joked they’d dress up as a steak bake for the next one. The bakery brand’s official website confirmed this fantastic rave was to toast the launch of Schak and Will Atkinson’s recent track ‘Yesterday’.

A statement read: “We transformed our iconic Northumberland Street shop into an intimate DJ pop-up for 60 lucky fans to enjoy.

“Fellow British DJ and producer Charlie Boon kicked off the night with a one-hour warm-up set before Schak and Will Atkinson took to the stage. It might be a one-of-a-kind experience for us, but this isn’t the first time Schak has performed somewhere unexpected.

“From the Tyne and Wear Metro to the top level of a double-decker bus it was only a matter of time before we rolled out the red carpet and hosted one of his performances at Greggs. If you missed out, fear not. Have a listen to ‘Yesterday’ by Schak & Will Atkinson x Abi Flynn on Armada Music.”
