Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s trip to Nigeria has been dubbed a ‘mini royal tour’, a term which would have not “pleased” King Charles or Prince William, an expert has claimed.
Despite stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Harry and Meghan have received a royal welcome from the African nation, which ex-BBC royal correspondent, Jennie Bond, would have not sat well with the Monarch or the heir.
Speaking to OK! magazine, Jennie said: “The King and Prince William are firmly of the belief that you are either in or out of the working royals.

“This seems to be a rather strange halfway house. I think both the King and the Prince, and indeed the Government, will want it to be made clear that Harry is not representing either the Royal Family or Britain on this trip.”
Jennie also commented that The Prince of Wales appears more relaxed as Kate Middleton battles back from cancer, venturing the furthest from home since the Princess of Wales shared her cancer news, committing to two days of official engagements in Cornwall, reports the Mirror.
He spent his trip championing the cause of homelessness in Cornwall, as the head of the Duchy of Cornwall as Prince Harry travelled back to Britain for the Invictus Games’ 10th-anniversary bash, before embarking on his Nigerian trip with Meghan.
Despite speculation, Harry didn’t catch up with any of the royals during his UK visit, not even his dad, King Charles.
Jennie weighed in on the ongoing royal feud, saying: “I think we have to give up hope that the rift between the brothers will be healed at any time in the near future, or indeed ever.
“William’s head and heart must be bursting with all that he has on his plate right now: his wife’s cancer treatment, his father’s illness, his children growing up fast, the pressure for him to take on more royal duties, the prospect of becoming King earlier than he might ever have wanted.”
