King Charles is pushing back on his “rude and childish” youngest son, a royal commentator has said.
In coded Royal-speak and through a camp of the King’s allies rallying together, tensions between the Monarch and Prince Harry are playing out in the public eye, Daniela Elser claimed.
Writing for news.com, Daniela unpicked what happened on Harry’s recent trip to Britain to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

It had been reported that the pair would meet on the trip, however, Charles sent a message to Harry, stating that “unfortunately”, he would not meet up with Harry, “due to His Majesty’s full programme”.
Harry’s team replied, “the duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon”.
Elser claimed the subtext of the Prince’s response, while coded and opaque, was that the King rejected Harry’s olive branch.
However, Elser said the King, far from rejecting his son, is said to have offered him a place to say, which Harry turned down.
She wrote: “What actually transpired when the duke was in Britain last week is now being hotly disputed with a series of friends of His Majesty popping their heads above the parapet to reject Harry’s take.
“Not only had, according to them, the Duke of Sussex not requested to see his father but Charles had offered him a place to stay, only to have the 39-year-old stay in a hotel instead.”
She also reports that the Sunday Times’ royal editor Roya Nikkhah and a pal of the King cast doubt over Harry’s version of events, saying: “The idea that [the King] refused to find space in his diary … well, let’s say recollections may vary once again”.
Elser reports that a friend of the King and Queen also disregarded Harry’s claim to “understand”, telling the Daily Beast that “no-one trusted Harry”.
They said: “No-one trusted him before, and they certainly don’t now. It’s rude, undignified and childish to make these attacks on his family when he knows they can’t answer back.
“Harry claims to love his family. He has a funny way of showing it. It’s reminiscent of how he spent the last months of Queen Elizabeth’s life saying how much he loved her while attacking the monarchy to which she had devoted her life. Nothing has changed. We are back to square one.”
The Daily Star has reached out to representatives of Prince Harry for comment.
