‘I like flaunting my legs in bikinis – I do not care if individuals stare at them’

Everyone has insecurities, and one woman is on a mission to prove that’s okay.

Bikini model and designer Karina Irby, who runs company Moana Swim, shared a body positive message on Instagram that can resonate with most of us.

In a frank discussion, the businesswoman delved into aspects about herself that make her anxious – ranging from her face to her tummy.

Sharing a picture flaunting her physique, she said: “A carousel of my insecurities. My legs – People staring at my legs in public will never get easy and unnoticed. Tummy – As much as I appreciate it, I still find myself judging it the most. My face – My biggest insecurity. I’d love perfect glass skin.”

She further added: “Anxiety – I don’t mind talking about it but dealing with it makes me feel my worst. Being a business owner – I have imposter syndrome everyday. Even though I look confident, I can show you lies.

Following her honest disclosure about personal struggles, her post won over a wide audience, receiving more than 4,000 likes. Fans applauded Karina, 34,for fearlessly discussing body image issues and honouring her transparency.

One admirer expressed: “Well first of all you look amazing regardless. And those things are a sign of life and development. You’re human and with all those ‘insecurities’ you’re a diamond.”

The revelation came hot on the heels of another bold move by Karina, where she showcased her “imperfections” on social media. The influencer made an authentic attempt to normalise not looking “picture perfect” all the time.

In a revealing video, she pointed out common issues like cellulite, bloated bellies, tummy rolls and “giggling thighs.”

Karina suggested reframing the language around these aspects, stressing they are normal parts of being human rather than considering them as “flaws”.
