Neil Warnock is back in football – to no one’s shock! The legendary manager has taken a new upstairs role, and like these other managers, just can’t stay away from the game
Neil Warnock’s returned to football – once again! And it has left football fans across the country buzzing, especially those of financially hit National League South side Torquay United.
The Gulls were able to ward off relegation from the sixth tier after they were slapped with a ten-point deduction for entering administration. However, the club are now under new ownership and have persuaded the 75-year-old to join their board of directors as a football advisor.
Warnock reacted to his new role on Twitter, by posting a message which read: “I know what you’re thinking, I can’t keep away from football, and you would be right!

“Delighted to be asked to help out at Torquay by the new owners, hopefully we can get a wonderful club back into the Football League where it belongs. Will be a tough but enjoyable journey. Are you with me?”
After leaving Aberdeen as interim boss in March, Warnock is back down in Devon where he managed the Gulls in 1993. And like the iconic boss, Daily Star Sport looks at other managers who just couldn’t say no to the game.
