The eyes of the world will be on Tyson Fury when he takes on Oleksandr Usyk in the hopes of achieving sporting immortality – but one person seemingly not overly fussed is his mum.
Amber Fury has never been to one of her son’s boxing bouts and this weekend will be no different – despite it being the first undisputed heavyweight title fight for 25 years.
Tyson has spoken in the past about the mystery surrounding his mum and he acknowledged it was “crazy” that there are no photos of her online.

Below we tell you a little bit more about Amber and why she has decided to avoid the limelight for so long.
Amber used to be married to Tyson’s infamous dad, John Fury, who unlike her, seems to be attracted to the cameras.

The latest example came this week when he headbutted a member of Usyk’s team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. And speaking afterwards with his head split open, he shouted: “I live for this f***ing shit. I live for blood, guts and horror. Blood, guts and horror. Fury, Fury, Fury!”
The pair have three sons together – Shane Fury, John Fury Jr, and Tyson Fury. However, the couple reportedly had several miscarriages and their daughter, Ramona, died after birth.
Tyson was nine at the time and one year later he took up boxing – eventually becoming the heavyweight champion of the world and he is yet to lose as a professional.
John Fury spoke about how he met another woman (Tommy Fury’s mum Chantal) when his marriage to Amber crumbled.

In his autobiography, he wrote: “My first wife Amber and I had a rocky patch and, following one particularly ugly argument, she went to live with her parents to give us both some space. She stayed away for six months, and in her absence I began seeing Chantal, who in time was to become my son Tommy’s mum.
“The relationship blossomed and deepened; in fact I’m still with this fine woman today all these years on. Chantal became pregnant early in our relationship and it was with a lump in my throat that I made my confession to Amber and told all my sons from my first marriage that they had a new half-brother on the way.”
John also spoke on the True Geordie podcast where he gave a rather unpleasant view on what he was like as a husband.

He gave his thoughts on the “role of a woman” and said he wasn’t interested in wives because they “come and go” unlike kids who “stay with you for the rest of your life”.
John also said he would pop out for a newspaper before returning home three weeks later after partying in the Costa Del Sol.
There, he said he slept with prostitutes and did drugs and he added: “I woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, three brasses in the bed and I thought you know what, let’s go home to the kids I’ve had enough.
“That’s what I did, I would go home, the missus would batter me with a rolling pin for about 10 minutes and I would get on with it, I deserve it, back to work Monday morning.”

Their son, Tyson Fury, is now 35 and he and his childhood sweetheart wife, Paris Fury, have seven kids together.
They opened up about their chaotic family life for a Netflix At Home with The Fury’s documentary. John Fury and Tommy made regular appearances but one person absent was Amber.
But this is no surprise given her private life and Tyson Fury has acknowledged this in the past.
Speaking to the Telegraph, he said: “I looked on Google the other day and there’s not one picture of my mother on the internet. That’s crazy isn’t it?” She has never been to one of my boxing fights, amateur or professional and never been in the public eye at all.

“I don’t think it means anything to my mum. She doesn’t care if I’m world champion or not, as long as I’m healthy and happy. That is the only thing that means anything to her.”
He added: “You could give my mother that table full of £50 notes and diamonds and it wouldn’t change who she is, ever.”
Fury, who is based in Morecambe, also mentioned her in his autobiography, Behind the Mask, where he explained that she has no understanding of his fame.
He wrote: “I took her out shopping one time after the Wilder fight and I was being stopped for photographs and autographs everywhere I went in Manchester and she couldn’t understand it.
“I had to explain to her that I was the heavyweight champion of the world and a lot of people had watched me and supported me. That was actually very special.”
