Fans rage over ‘absolutely disgraceful’ Fury vs Ursyk ring stroll time confusion

Boxing fans have been filled with fury by confusion over the ring walk times for tonight’s eagerly-anticipated fight.

Uncertainty surrounds the timings of this evening’s bout (May 18) in Saudi Arabia, as the two titans, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, lock horns in a bid to determine who is the first undisputed heavyweight champion since the turn of the millennium. It had initially looked like the ring walks were to be pushed back, with reports indicating that they would commence at 11.45pm UK time.

This promised to be a late night for Brit boxing fans and caused anger among many who had been expecting the scrap between the two undefeated fighters to begin at 11pm.

One fan wrote: “Midnight? Thought they were due out about 11,” One fan wrote. “Absolutely disgraceful,” added a second.

Meanwhile, a third chipped in: “F*****g hell already on the ciders though main event was 10ish.”

Another person, clearly concerned about their alcohol intake for the evening, then added: “Gonna have to delay drinking otherwise peaking too early!”

A fifth pointed out the change, claiming: “Said 10 earlier in the week ffs.”

Despite this, talkSPORT’s Michael Benson took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to say that it was expected at 10.30pm.

People, however, were sceptical with one person saying on the same platform: “No chance it’ll be at 10.30pm, it’ll be at 12.30am.”

There’s a fair chance a lot of this frustration and disbelief stems from the previous big fight held in Saudi Arabia when Anthony Joshua fought Francis Ngannou which didn’t start until after midnight.
