Helicopter carrying Iranian President concerned in ‘incident’

Rescue teams are understood to be rushing to the scene following reports of a helicopter carrying the president of Iran being involved in an ‘incident’.

State TV reported that a helicopter carrying President Ebrahim Raisi was involved in an accident over Iran’s East Azerbaijan province.

Reports claim the helicopter endured a “hard landing” on Sunday morning (May 19). He had been in Azerbaijan to inaugurate a dam alongside Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev.
