David Raya is cautiously optimistic he has done enough to earn a permanent move to Arsenal.
Yet, despite the wise money being on the Gunners exercising their summer option to buy the Spanish keeper outright from Brentford for £27million, he is taking nothing for granted.
Yes, Raya recently became Arsenal’s third Premier League Golden Glove winner, following in the footsteps of Petr Cech and Wojciech Szczesny.

Yes, he is clearly Mikel Arteta’s number one at the Emirates, ahead of England international Aaron Ramsdale.
However, going into today’s crunch clash at home to Everton, he claimed there have been no talks with the Arsenal hierarchy regarding his longer-term situation.
Raya, 28, revealed: “No, no. I am just focussed on the present. I don’t want to think too much about the future.
“It’s not up to me now. I have to think about the game on Sunday. Then we break for summer.
“It’s not up to me to sign. It’s up to the club and Mikel. If my performances have been good enough, hopefully, they will offer me a contract.
“Of course, I would love to be here next season and, if that’s the case, it will be amazing – a dream come true.
“I don’t want to it stop here. I want more. I want to win trophies with Arsenal.”
Unquestionable is Raya’s admiration for compatriot Arteta – and the Gunners chief’s constant search to improve standards at the club – on and off the pitch.
The ex-Blackburn keeper, 28, added: “As a person, he’s 10 out of 10, and the same as a manager.
“He knows what he wants. He shows us how to get the best out of the group.
“With the staff, the fans, the players, he has brought this club together again. What he’s done is incredible.”
