In an Instagram post, Emily wrote: “Lately, I’ve been hiding away, letting the fear of what others think and the worry of saying or doing something wrong hold me back.

“I’ve been paralysed by the fear of offending someone, and in doing so, I’ve strayed from the very advice I’ve been giving others for the past 14 years.

“In life, there will always be people sitting in the cheap seats, never daring to step onto the floor. From their safe distance, they hurl mean-spirited criticisms and put-downs.

“But here’s the thing: if we stop caring entirely about what others think and become numb to cruelty, we risk losing our ability to connect with others. On the other hand, if we let ourselves be defined by those opinions, we lose the courage to be vulnerable and authentic.

“The key is to be selective about the feedback we allow into our lives. For me, if you’re not also putting yourself out there or you’re not an expert in that field, your feedback doesn’t matter.

“Surround yourself with those who understand the struggle, who are brave enough to be vulnerable, and who are fighting their own battles. It’s in this shared courage and resilience that we find true connection and strength.

“So, step into your arena, embrace your journey and let your courage shine. You are not defined by the critics in the cheap seats, but by your own daring spirit.”
