Man orders cup of tea at cafe – however what arrives is a ‘felony offence’

Nothing gets Brits more aggravated than an underwhelming cuppa.

Perhaps that’s why the internet has been left gobsmacked after an incredibly milky beverage was served up. A man, known as Max Hardy, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, presenting a pitiful showing of what was supposedly tea.

Alongside the post, he wrote: “Just been served the worst cup of tea not just of my life but since the advent of agriculture.”

The photograph featured what appeared to be a milk-like liquid presented on a saucer with a dinky spoon. It could scarcely console him from what was found in his cup.

When it comes to the ghastly cuppa in question you can only speculate about how it may have tasted, given its pale colour.

It’s safe to say that the murky concoction didn’t go unnoticed among social media users, who were keen to share their thoughts. Max was even instructed to “call the police” by some, who declared a tea emergency.

One social media user responded saying: “That’s not a beverage. It’s a declaration of hostilities.” Another added: “This is how my mum drinks tea. She has milk flavoured earl grey. It is VILE.”

A third noted: “Would you like tea with your watery milk?” Meanwhile, a fourth replied: “That should be a criminal offence.”

Others also weighed in on the debate saying there was something else not quite right about the cuppa. One user shared their thoughts jokingly, adding “The cup and saucer have a sinister look. Keep your back to the wall.”

Another humorous comment read: “Did you call the police because someone stole the last bit of joy from that drink?” One more wrote: “This isn’t a cup of tea, it’s a puddle.”

And – if you’re wondering when is the best time to drink your tea – then we have the answer. According to one sleep expert, Brits who love their tea could be ruining their shut eye by making a cup of too late.

He advised against drinking tea before bed, despite the common belief that this comforting beverage aids sleep.
