Partygoers are giving pubs a Bank Holiday boost with 60 million pints supped this weekend. as 23c sunny spells cheer millions . . . but torrential downpours are on the way to ruin all the booze-filled fun.
Breweries are rushing more barrels to boozers as Merry May sees a bonus Sunday night out take place tomorrow, with most of nation off work on Monday to recover from it.
Beaches have seen a 23c Super Saturday rush today, but day trippers face the worst traffic of the weekend tomorrow, as 20 million cars clog roads between torrential showers.

Around 60m pints of beer will have been drunk in Britain’s 40,000 bars between Friday and tomorrow, the British Beer and Pub Association data trends show. And real ale is seeing a big weekend as revellers flock to hundreds of spring fairs.
Alison Jordan, CEO of drinks analysts Oxford Partnership, said: “Never mind the weather, the FA Cup final and other TV sport are giving pubs a shot in the arm this weekend.”
Ice cream stalls saw queues across the country today as 50,000 visitors flocked to Brighton, with 30,000 at Bournemouth and 20,000 in Great Yarmouth. But showers will hit many tomorrow, with thunderstorms for some and 20c highs at the same time.
The East will be wet again on Monday, although the West will be drier at 19c. The Weather Outlook forecaster Brian Gaze said: “It feels warm in sunny spells, but showers and longer spells of rain are on the way.”
Cloud breaks will trigger “sunshine jams” tomorrow, as 20m cars hit roads, the highest daily total of the weekend, the AA said. Experts said Brits will dash to coasts and beauty spots between showers.
RAC spokesman Simon Williams said: “When the sun comes out, more people will head out, swelling vehicle totals on the roads.”
And with travel chaos expected on the railways, the he Rail Delivery Group said: “A considerable number of engineering projects are being undertaken. Check before you travel.”
Airports were hit by queues, with Manchester Airport seeing a late May record 100,000 passengers daily.
