Couple identify child after wrestler as bloke asks if spouse knew who ‘Joe Hendry was’

A newborn has been named after TNA Wrestling’s Scottish star Joe Hendry, as he shares the same birthday with the chart-topping wrestler.

Joe recently made global headlines when his song, ‘I Believe in Joe Hendry’ topped the UK’s iTunes chart and reached fourth place on the Big Top 40.

The baby boy, Micah Gene Hendry Roberts, was named by his proud parents Micalah and Lucas Roberts . . . but he had to check that she actually know who Joe Hendry was first.

Lucas explained: “We initially decided to split naming duties, with my wife choosing his first name, and I pick the middle name. I chose Gene in honour of my father.

A few months ago, Micalah asked me if I knew who Joe Hendry was. I have been following his career for years, so I was happy to fill her in on who Joe is and she has since become a big fan herself!

“The name Hendry quickly grew on us and we decided to include it when naming our son. When we found out Micah would be sharing the same birthday as Joe, we knew we made the right choice.

Reacting to the news of baby Micah Gene Hendry Roberts being named after him, he told the Daily Star: “I am completely humbled, honoured and privileged. It’s so special when you’ve made an impact on people to the point when they want to include something about you in their own family.

“Their support means the world to me. I am going to keep in touch and have Micah and the whole family come and join us at one of our TNA shows.
