Mystery Brit has simply days to assert £500,000 Lottery jackpot or threat lacking out

Nothing would make you more sick to the stomach than finding an old lottery ticket down the side of the couch to find your numbers had come up – but you were too late.

That’s the prospect one Thunderball player is facing if they don’t get their skates on and claim their £500,000 prize. With just nine days left to cash in the life-changing jackpot, the unknown UK person had better be quick.

Allwyn, which operates the National Lottery said the prize from the end of last year still hasn’t been claimed by the winner.

The organisation said: “If a valid claim is not received within 180 days (around 6 months) of the draw date, the prize and any interest earned on it will go to benefit National Lottery Projects across the UK.”

And in just over a week’s time, on 5 June, the claim for the Thunderball draw from 8 December 2023 will expire, LadBible reports.

The winning ticket was bought in Redditch in Worcestershire and those vital winning numbers were 2, 15, 31, 35, 37 and the Thunderball 6.

Rules state that anyone who thinks their ticket has been stolen or damaged needs to inform the National Lottery within 30 days, so that ship has sailed.

With the clock ticking, it might be best the person never learns of what could have been if they end up being too late.

Earlier this week, we reported the unfortunate sagas of unlucky players who missed out on the prize of a lifetime from a £2.50 account blunder to the “worst cash out ever.”

Rachel Kennedy thought she had just pocketed a whopping £182million after matching all seven EuroMillions numbers back in February 2021.

But she was let with nothing because she didn’t have enough money in her bank account to pay the £2.50 charge on her account.

And just last week, 24-year-old Ethan Conway had impeccably bad timing when he cashed out minutes before his £219 bet could have won him £800,000.
