Marcus Rashford posted a heartfelt message to Manchester United fans announcing he would be taking a break from social media.
The 26-year-old has endured a largely miserable season for the Red Devils, scoring just eight goals in all competitions following the most prolific campaign of his career to date last season, where he scored 30 times.
His poor form and infamous Belfast nightclub incident in January raised suggestions that United could be open to selling the forward this summer. While his international career has also taken a huge blow after he was left out of Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad.

Following United’s FA Cup final triumph over rivals Manchester City at Wembley on Saturday (May 25), in which Rashford played 74 minutes and provided a key role in Kobbie Mainoo’s goal, he has announced on his Twitter page that he will be taking a break from social media to “rest and reset mentally”.
“It’s time to come off Socials for a few weeks,” Rashford wrote. “I plan to rest and reset mentally after a challenging season individually and collectively. Thanks to the fans that stood by me through a difficult period. To the ones that didn’t just remember at United, we always stick together.”

That post was Rashford’s first upload on Twitter since he posted a picture of him celebrating United’s FA Cup win.
He later uploaded a then and now picture of him lifting the cup back when United beat Crystal Palace 2-1 in the 2016 final next to a snap of him holding the trophy in the changing rooms this year.
Rashford also posted a picture of him applauding the United fans at Wembley with tears streaming down his face, captioning the post: “People want to know what Man Utd means to me!”
