‘Tory time wasters needs to be despatched the invoice for Angela Rayner investigation’

Smear we go again

Smear merchant Rishi Sunak and his Tory gang of police time-wasters deserve to be sent the bill after hounded Angela Rayner was cleared of criminal wrongdoing over the sale of her former home. The politically motivated allegations were pathetically shallow and Tory MP James Daly, destined for defeat, will be no loss to Parliament after making the now-dismissed complaint to Greater Manchester Police.

The Chief Constable has questions to answer for diverting officers from catching burglars, muggers, thieves, thugs, rapists and murderers to pursue a Labour Deputy Leader disliked and feared by snobby Conservatives because she’s a working-class woman popular with voters.

The Tory machine throwing mud at rivals is classic gutter politics. They tried it before over Keir Starmer and his bottle of beer in Durham. Rayner is owed an apology from Sunak and when Parliament returns we hope a victorious Labour MP tables a question asking how much Greater Manchester Police squandered on this Tory mischief. And a Tory leader richer than the King is challenged to cough up.

We can’t wait

Labour’s pledge to clear a near-record NHS backlog in a single Parliament is a Herculean task worth voting for since the Tories have pushed the NHS to its knees. Nobody pretends that treating the 3.2 million patients waiting longer than 18 weeks will be easy, least of all Keir Starmer and Shadow Health Secretary Wes Streeting.

But Labour in the late 1990s and early 2000s cured a sick NHS inherited from the Conservatives and could do it again by initially using evening and weekend overtime. Labour aiming high on health is the change the country needs.

It’s pud news

The schoolgirl scoffing fewer Yorkshire puddings after hypnosis cured her obsessive eating will be happier and healthier. Everything in moderation. And that includes Aunt Bessie, whose sales will take a battering.
