Cooking for your wife is considered a romantic gesture – and perhaps that’s why one bloke was keen to boast about his efforts.
The anonymous man shared his culinary creation on Reddit, but he didn’t get the response he hoped for. He wrote: “Made my wife cheesy steamed veggies and cheesy salmon for dinner.”
In the picture, you could see the salmon that was covered in cheese alongside the vegetables with white stuff on top. We know people like their cheese, but the dish really did take things to the next level.

As you’d expect, people were quick to comment on the quirky creation. Many people were baffled as to why you’d put salmon and cheese on the same plate.
The fusion really did shock people, as over 1,000 people have got involved in the conversation. It’s fair to say the dish surprised many, and they’ve been left totally gobsmacked by it.
Perhaps it doesn’t help that the cheese topping manages to drain the colour from a lot of the dish. We just hope it went down better with the bloke’s Mrs!
One person said: “I love all types of fish. Salmon is probably my favourite. I also love cheese. But I’d never ruin a salmon with cheese!”
Another wrote: “The realisation of this was pretty hilarious to me because all I was really seeing was cheese. I couldn’t look past the cheese. But under all that cheese, was food.”
A third replied: “Dawg, never once has salmon needed cheese in the sense that you used it. That made me gag. Bravo!”
Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “So I’ve just scanned through your previous food posts on your profile and I think you need to stop, if you don’t I’ll be calling the police.”
Lots of people were quick to share their cheesy quips, with one person claiming the chef must be a “psychopath” to blend the particular flavours together. But, despite the backlash, some people were quick to offer advice too.
As much as it may surprise you, a few even said they’d be willing to give the meal a whirl. Well, permitting a few tweaks were made.
One chimed in with: “That is gnarlyyyyyy but ain’t nothing half a bottle of hot sauce cant fix.” Another wrote: “As someone who doesn’t like cheese, especially cheddar, this looks incredibly appetising to me for some reason.”
Finally, one more said: “It looks good but I know that salmon is way better without cheese.”
