Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk appears to be finding a new passion after showing off his golf skills.
It’s no secret that footballers love to play golf to unwind from their day jobs, and everybody has to start somewhere, but it appears Mudryk may need to be putting in the extra time over the summer break before taking on his Chelsea team-mates.
A video shared on social media showed the Ukrainian lining up a drive barefoot. The winger then takes a few practice pull back attempts before he very quickly gets out of shape on the swing as his front left foot moves sideways, seeing him slice his attempt off to the right of the camera.

While a voice in the background of the video can be heard giving a supportive: “That’s not bad you know”, fans on social media quickly began to have a bit of fun in the comments section.
One Chelsea fan quipped: “We’ve got the next Gareth Bale,” while a second cheekily compared the two winger’s golf skills together, joking: “He’s Gareth Bale 2.0.” With a third said: “His swing is as bad as finishing!”
What do you make of Mykhailo Mudryk’s golf skills? Let us know in the comments section.
At over ten years Bale’s junior, Mudryk still has plenty of time to reach the levels of the former Wales winger, who hung up his boots in 2023, after his golf playing became controversial while at Real Madrid.
Bale often humorously joined in with his reputation, celebrating with a “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order” banner after qualifying for Euro 2020.
He has since competed alongside US pro golfer Joseph Bramlett at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am event in California, as they finished joint 16th in the amateur side of the event.
But it’s not on the golf course that Blues fans will be hoping Mudryk emulates Bale on, as the 23-year-old enjoyed a run of starting seven games at the end of the Premier League season as Chelsea finished 6th – he only missed the final day win against Bournemouth due to concussion.
