A savvy TikTok user let slip on what you need to do. And first things first, try looking for the sneaky little button on your wiper blades.

In a TikTok video, user @master_driver666, who previously shared a trick for fixing broken mirror windows, spilled the beans on how to swap out those blades for cheap.

Standing next to her motor and about a minute into the video, the user said: “The wiper blade cannot clean the glass, come and see, there’s a black button here.

“Let’s hold it down with our hands, then gently pull it up, the wiper blade has been removed. Next aim your new wiper blade here, insert it from top to bottom, the wiper blades have been replaced.”

It’s a doddle to find a replacement and do the job yourself. Popping into a garage often means coughing up for both the part and the fitting, which can set you back a hefty £50 or so.

Some joints even charge a tenner just to pop the new blade on for you. But now, armed with this fresh intel, you can start pinching those pennies.

Meanwhile, another added: “Still waiting for window repair.” The majority of the viewers were pleased, as someone said: “Love this!”
