English pro golfer Charley Hull was compared to iconic PGA Tour star John Daly as she signed autographs at the US Women’s Open on Tuesday – while smoking.
Hull went viral when she was snapped with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth as she greeted fans at Lancaster Country Club in Pennsylvania. The No. 8 in the LPGA world rankings has been swinging a club since she was two.
She turned pro in 2013, the same year she scooped the Ladies European Tour Rookie of the Year award. In a moment of non-competitive fun, Hull was seen having a giggle on the course with her tournament rivals.

There’s lots of quality news coming out of the US.
The top-ranked golfer on the LPGA Tour, Nelly Korda, showed Hull and golfer Megan Khang a photo on her phone, with the three of them were pictured laughing.
Golf fans naturally took to social media to join in with the fun with their take on the fag-on-the-go snap.
“Signing feverishly with a lung dart suspended from her lips is bad assery on steroids,” one X user wrote.
Another said: “Sign me up! I am a new fan of hers! Simply because she is being herself in her environment.”
And a third wondered: “Could John Daly possibly be her father lol!”
Daly, a two-time Major winner, is known for lighting up cigarettes during tournaments.
Daly, who is 58 years old, smoked two packs of cigarettes while playing in the first round of the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Course in Louisville, Kentucky, according to The Athletic.
He withdrew from the tournament ahead of the second round on May 17.
The 28-year-old Hull has won on the Ladies European Tour three times and the LPGA Tour twice.
Last year, she received a diagnosis of ADHD and shared how she relies on fitness to control her symptoms.
Hull told Sky Sports in April that when she feels like she is struggling she hits the gym.
“I decided not to take any medication as I feel that I can manage it myself,” she shared with the outlet.
“One of the biggest things for me is routine. That’s why the job that I have works well in that my days have a regular structure to them.
“When I’m away on tour, I can get into a really good routine and that helps me enormously. I have a better understanding of myself in terms of what works for me and what does not. I know how important routine is for me and I’m better at scheduling and planning so that I can be as healthy as possible. I put myself first. I know my triggers and how to cope. I just do me.”
Hull has gained quite a significant fanbase off the golf course too, with more than 442,000 followers on Instagram alone.
She was previously married to MMA fighter Ozzie Smith, but that ended in divorce in 2019. Hull is also said to have dated pro footballer Lee Tomlin.
However, more recently she has been reportedly paired up with Geordie Shore’s Gary ‘Gaz’ Beadle.
And the couple appear to have some common ground, with golf-loving Gaz regularly making videos on his YouTube channel, Gaz’s Golf, for a while now.
