Jurgen Klopp has opened up on his ‘dream’ retreat to Majorca after leaving Liverpool and stepping back from football.
The German, 56, resigned as Reds boss following nine-and-a-half-years at the helm earlier this month, admitting he was “running out of energy” and planned to take a sabbatical from football management.
Klopp has since retreated to the Balearic Island of Majorca to his £3.4million villa that he bought in 2022, where he plans to finish work on the ‘ecological family paradise’ home.

On his reason for the move, Klopp told the podcast Willipedia via Bild: “I’ve dreamed of having a house in the south all my life. I like the weather, the climate, I like the people.
“There are lots of things I like here and also people I already know. It’s not like I’m looking for new friends. I already have friends for life, and if some of them are here too, that’s cool.”
When do you think Jurgen Klopp will return to management? Let us know in the comments section.
He explained his love of the island but revealed he doesn’t plan to permanently relocate there, he continued: “I don’t want to emigrate.
“We go on holiday here every now and then. But when I’m here, I want everything to be as I know it.
“That’s totally boring but the point is that I want to get to know a different life, but not somewhere in the jungle or on the mountain.”
Despite swapping the north-west of England for the sun to recharge his batteries, the German ruled out any chance of retirement, adding: “It’s out of the question that I’ll stop working altogether.
“But I don’t see myself continuing at the same pace as before at the moment.”
One of the major perks of Klopp’s new home is the close proximity to the exclusive Majorca County Club where he can continue to play his beloved padel, with courts just around the corner from his house.
Klopp was in Liverpool this week for a farewell event where he took aim at Manchester City’s 115 alleged Premier League charges.
He was questioned whether he and Liverpool should find themselves with two extra league titles should the ongoing investigation strip City of their crowns – though the club has vehemently denied the accusations.
He replied: “If you organise a bus parade I’m in. How long it takes, I don’t care how long.”
