Bloke’s ‘life turned the other way up’ after discovering accomplice’s ‘unusual’ secret

They say you never really know someone until you live with them.

And while you might be happy to put up with some quirks, there can be others that are just damn right weird. It took one bloke quite a while to discover his partner harboured a “strange” secret that turned his life “upside down.”

In a popular post on Reddit, he asked: ” What’s something your other half does that you find strange?”

He went on to explain: “I’ve recently discovered that when my missus makes a sandwich, she only butters one slice of bread. It’s made me question if I’m the strange one who butters both slices or I’m normal and she’s the freak.

“I’m also thinking that as I have only just realised after a year, perhaps the second slice just doesn’t need butter. My life has been turned upside down by this!

“What weird and wonderful things do your partners do that you find strange?”

The post attracted hundreds of responses.

One user replied: “When having a bag of crisps she’ll only eat the big, full crisps, not the smaller bits at the bottom. And that’s not just the tiny crumbs, she won’t touch anything smaller than about 50p coin size. She used to just then throw that away, but now we team up and I’ll finish the job.”

One commented: “My wife will only allow the TV volume to be an even number. This also applies to the car stereo, and any other volume slider that has a number.”

While one wrote: “My fiance eats cereal with a teaspoon. Completely idiotic and it annoys me so much.”

And one man said his partner (who we believe to be Scouse) calls refers to well-known shops as “The Asda and Home and Bargains.”

Referring back to the original post, one man sympathised adding: “My partner also only butters one slice… I first noticed it when she was buttering the buns for our burgers. I was very upset that she neglected the top half of the bun.”

But another admitted: “I only ever butter both slices of bread (or both sides of the roll) if it’s a chip butty.”
