Eggs to condoms, Farage to Blair – UK politicians savaged in public since 1970

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has had what appears to be a milkshake thrown over him after leaving the Moon and Starfish pub in Clacton, where he is running to become an MP once again

Nigel Farage has been milkshake once again, but he’s not the only politician to have been put in the stocks.

The former UKIP and Brexit Party leader recently U-turned on his decision to not stand in this year’s general election, arguing he didn’t want to let his supporters down. But on the first day of campaigning, the controversial political was doused in what appeared to be a vanilla milkshake.

Farage was leaving the Moon and Starfish Wetherspoons in Clacton, the constituency he hopes to win, when his suit was marred with the milky substance. A 23-year-old woman, from Clacton, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault. While officers were responding and making this arrest, a second individual, a man, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.

While the Reform UK leader looked less than pleased with the stunt, it isn’t the first time he’s been ‘Yazooed’. To mark the stunt, we take a look back at all the times Brits have showered politicians with some pretty unusual items.
