Pack of XL bullies brutally maul girl to dying on her twenty third birthday

A 23-year-old woman has died after reportedly being set upon by a pair of suspected XL bullies.

Tributes have poured in for Nicole Morey from County Limerick who was celebrating her birthday when she was attacked by the animals. On Tuesday night (June 4) she was outside her home in Ballyneety when two dogs out of a pack of four attacked her. One of the dogs was later shot by the gardai.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services rushing to help, Nicole passed away at the scene from her injuries. Tributes from loved one have already poured in, including from her sister who wrote on Facebook: “My heart is shattered once again. On your birthday I only hung up on you two seconds before. I really tried my best to help I’m so sorry Nicole I love you so much it feels like a bit [of a] bad dream”.

Meanwhile, a friend of the victim posted on the same platform: “Nicole Morey to be taken so tragically on your birthday my heart is broken. You reached out to me following the loss of Mia and you offered unconditional love and support in the darkest of times.



Tributes have poured in for Nicole

“You were always checking in and sent me some beautiful messages that encouraged my healing journey.

You never forgot Mother’s day and you held me in your heart. I now hold you in mine forever. God only takes the best and you were definitely one of them. Love your soul little lady, rest in eternal peace.”

A gardai spokesperson said: “At approximately 11.40pm last night, Tuesday 4th June 2024, Gardaí received report and attended an incident where a woman (23) was fatally injured following a dog attack at a domestic residence in Ballyneety, Co. Limerick.

“The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.” They added: “Her body has been removed from the scene to Mid Western Regional Hospital, Limerick, where a Post Mortem examination will take place.

“The animal believed to be involved in the incident has now been destroyed. A number of other dogs have been seized. An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Roxboro Road Garda Station on (061) 214 340, the Garda Confidential line on 180e0 666 111 or any Garda station.”

Nicole’s sister also postd about releasing balloons in honour of Nicole in a statement on Facebook.; she wrote: “Hi lads we’re leaving off balloon tomorrow night at 6.30 outside my mother. if people could get purple and yellow balloon if ye can’t any balloons will do my poor sister didn’t deserve it i will love and miss Nicole” [sic].
