Jack Grealish handed tempting lifeline after being snubbed by Gareth Southgate

In a shocking twist, Jack Grealish has been thrown a lifeline this summer following his surprising omission from the Euro 2024 squad.

It was a rude awakening for the Manchester City star after England manager Gareth Southgate announced his Euros squad one day before their friendly against Iceland. Grealish, 28, was stunned to find himself among the seven players cut from the squad.

Reports suggest he was left ‘shocked and disappointed’ by the exclusion.

Despite believing he had done enough to secure a spot in the England squad, he handled the rejection gracefully. Even though Grealish had reported early to the England training camp only to face disappointment, it’s said that he acted “professionally” and accepted the manager’s decision with respect.

While still processing the setback, Wayne Lineker, brother of former England striker Gary Lineker, extended an unexpected offer to Grealish. Known for his love of beach parties and socialising, Wayne is more than familiar with the City midfielder, reports the Mirror.

A cheeky post shared on Instagram by a sports update page featured a snap of Jack and Wayne, 62, partying at Lineker’s Ocean Beach. Quirky caption read: “BREAKING NEWS. Jack Grealish agrees 4-week loan deal to Ocean Beach. HERE WE GO.”

The amusing post quickly gathered almost 25,000 likes and generated a slew of entertaining comments, including one from Wayne. The businessman and former Celebs Go Dating contestant expressed his enthusiasm for the idea, announcing to fans that it was ‘great news’.

Footie fans reckon Jack Grealish should just “hit the beach vibes” after being snubbed by Southgate. One supporter told him, “Enjoy yourself pal because Southgate doesn’t know what he doing,” while another chimed in with, “Go hit the beach vibes it’s better then looking at Southgate’s face in Germany.”

Grealish’s not alone though; James Maddison, Curtis Jones, Harry Maguire, James Trafford, Jarrel Quansah and Jarrad Branthwaite are also out in the cold.

Whispers suggest a top player from the squad even had a word with Southgate about his eyebrow-raising choices.

Meanwhile, Declan Rice, Harry Kane, Kyle Walker, Phil Foden and John Stones are all getting their kit ready for action. Southgate, defending his line-up, said: “All the players took the decisions respectfully.

“And all the players believe they should be in, that’s why they’re all top players with that mindset. We have some players that have performed extremely well this season and other players have had stronger seasons.

“In the attacking positions we’re blessed with a lot of options and Madders [James Maddison] and Jack give us something different.

“They were tough calls, but we back our decisions but recognise we could’ve gone a different route. It was sad to have to deliver that news to them.”
