Harry and Andrew issues convey William and Charles nearer, skilled claims

King Charles III and Prince William are said to be closer than ever amid growing tensions with other members of the Royal Family, according to sources.

It’s said that due to frictions surrounding Prince Andrew and Prince Harry, The King is understood to be closer than ever with his eldest son. The pair were pictured seemingly united, front and centre at D-Day commemorative events earlier this week.

Sources have now suggested that His Majesty may have once been unhappy allowing his son to be visible in public, but with his ongoing cancer treatment and the lack of working royals to hand, he has been happy to embrace this change.

One source told The Times that with duties being spread among a smaller number of workers due to health issues, the departure of Harry and Meghan and the withdrawal of Prince Andrew from public life the monarch is happy for the help.

A friend of the King says that in recent times King Charles has happily consulted his son on tricky family issues involving the likes of Prince Andrew and Harry and Meghan, bringing them closer than ever.

Their joint efforts to tackle these issues are said to have boosted both their private and working relationships as the pair put on a united front.

“If there was ever a green-eyed monster or a sense of rivalry between the two, that is a chapter of the past,” the source said. “The King sees his son as a useful ally on family matters and increasingly in discharging the duties of nation and state.

“When you are monarch, you’re not counting the column inches. You’re thinking about performing your role for your country, not just as King Charles but as ‘the family’.”

A source close to William said he wants to support his father. “That isn’t something new, but of course with everything the King is going through with his treatment, he will continue to support him as much as he can,” they added.

Perhaps an unlikely bond to form, Prince William and Queen Camilla are also said to have grown “much closer” since both King Charles and the Princess of Wales were diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

It’s as both William and Camilla find themselves in almost the same circumstances, as key working royals carrying on despite great personal difficulties.
