Prince Louis advises England workforce however William says ‘take it with pinch of salt’

Prince William has dished out Prince Louis’ cheeky tip for the England squad as they gear up for Euro 2024.

The future king, who’s the top dog at the FA, swung by the Three Lions’ training digs at St George’s Park in Burton-upon-Trent this morning to send off the lads with some royal well-wishes before they jet off to Germany for the footie showdown.

Wills had a chinwag with gaffer Gareth Southgate and doled out the squad number shirts to the players ahead of their opening clash with Serbia on Sunday night. The prince was seen pressing the flesh with Southgate, noting that in just “in a few hours” the team would be “getting ready to go” and make a beeline for Germany.

During his drop-in, Wills also snagged the chance to rally the troops with a pep talk, spilling the beans on Louis’ nugget of advice for the team.

He quipped: “Guys, while I was on the way here, I was thinking what shall I say. And I thought what can I offer as you are all an experienced team here with Gareth and I was thinking what could I say to help before you went away?”, reports the Mirror.

“And I was on the school run this morning with the children and I said ‘what shall I say to the England team today’. The best bit of advice I got was to eat twice the amount you would normally eat. And I now have visions of all of you running around with massive tummies and getting stitches on the pitch. So I think take my youngest’s advice with a pinch of salt!”

England skipper Harry Kane had a laugh about Louis’ double portion advice, quipping: “I don’t think our nutritionist will be happy with that advice.”

He’s chuffed to bits with the Prince of Wales dropping by, saying it’ll give the lads “extra motivation” and that they’ve got “one more job to do” to top last year’s efforts. “We know how much it means to the country and the fans. The nation comes together at this moment.”

Meanwhile, kiddos from the Midlands rocked up to St George’s Park for a footie fest to wave off the England team. Wills and Southgate were there too, having a gander at the games and chatting with the young footballers.

Big Villa supporter William often takes little Prince George to catch a match.

The Three Lions have been busy bees, trimming their squad from 33 to 26 and playing a couple of warm-up games. Jack Grealish, James Maddison and Harry Maguire didn’t make the final cut.

After thrashing Bosnia and Herzegovina, England took a bit of a tumble against Iceland. Now, with Jude Bellingham joining the crew, they’re all set to knuckle down in training before jetting off to Germany.

The team is set to check into the secluded, high-end Spa and Golf Resort Weimarer Land on Monday for the duration of their stay. The Three Lions will be jetting off to Gelsenkirchen, Cologne and Frankfurt for their group stage matches against Serbia, Slovenia and Denmark, but will train and reside in a resort that features two golf courses, swimming pools and a games room.

The England Men’s squad made it to the Euro 2020 final only to be defeated by Italy in a penalty shootout, while they were knocked out by France in the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup. The Uefa Euro 2024 tournament kicks off in Germany on Friday.
