A ‘mini heatwave’ is on the horizon as frustrated Brits moan about the late start to summer.
So far, this summer has been a grim one with low-pressure systems over the Atlantic Ocean causing April-like cold spells all over the country.
Despite the Sun not setting until late evening, temperatures have remained freezing and scientists have been rushing to get fed-up Brits some good news.

Luckily for frustrated Brits, hope is on the horizon. Charts from Netweather.tv suggest temperatures could hit the relatively balmy 24C on June 23.
WXCharts seem to back this up, but think the 24C blast will arrive a day earlier on June 22.

This is because they expect the current low-pressure system to stabilise, and carry some much needed warmth with it just in time for beer gardens to be flowing for Euro 2024.
This time last year, England was facing a mega-heatwave with the highest temperature of the year recorded in June 2023. It was the hottest June on record around the world, and in the UK. Despite many people saying it was too hot, a lot of Brits now are dreaming of warmer days.

Given that talking about the weather is the nation’s pastime, many UK residents online have had a lot to say about June’s below average temperatures.
One person said: “It is June, why is it still so freaking cold?!” Another added: “I’m really sorry England but it’s JUNE and I’m still waking up to pouring rain??”

Someone else said: “I bought an England hoodie for the winter World Cup in 2022 thinking I wouldn’t wear it much – going to have to keep it on all tournament if this current weather is anything to go by.”
If the weather predictions are correct, he won’t have to keep his hoodie on for long, although he’ll have to wrap up for England’s first group stage game on June 16, as it will still be a little cold on that Sunday.
