The man who discovered the late Dr Michael Mosley’s body has criticised the search saying it’s ‘unreal’ that helicopters were not able to spot him.
It took Greek search and rescue teams five days to look for Dr Mosley, and he was eventually found by a bar manager and an unrelated camera crew who were working by the sea.
Although Greek police initially said he was in a place known as The Abyss, which was too dangerous to send a search party, it was later discovered that he was in a safe spot only 10m away from the shore.

Dr Mosley, who went missing on the Greek island of Symi on June 4 and was found on Sunday (June 9), was determined to have devastatingly died from heat exhaustion, after temperatures on the island reached a sweltering 40C. His widow was left for those days praying that he would be found.
The bar manager who found the 67-year-old’s body has questioned how helicopters and drones missed it. Ilias Tsavaris, 38, told The Sun of the long search: “It’s unreal. The helicopters didn’t see him. Why?
“They walked through the whole island. Okay, maybe who is going to believe he is behind the wall. You can miss it.
“But from drones and helicopters? The whole day before the helicopter was here, over there and back. Come on.”
A lot of questions await the Greek search and rescue teams who did not think to look near the beach for the doctor who was due to star on Strictly Come Dancing later this year.
Symi mayor Lefteris Papakaloudoukas said: “We are saddened and in complete shock.
“Everyone wanted to find him alive. It’s been hard, very hard and no one ever thought we’d ever find him where we did, so near to the beach.”
