England’s preparations are underway — however Germany is ready for an inflow of kilts

England have placed a metal look-out platform at the side of their main training pitch in Blankenhain.

It’s supposed to be used by members of Gareth Southgate’s analytics team, to help them collate the players’ performance numbers from each session.

But one eager photographer who is part of the travelling press pack decided to overlook this fact, when he chose to climb to the top of the platform to get a better view of the squad warming up.

But he was abruptly told to come back down by a member of the FA. There was also a telling off for a member of the English press pack, even though he was attempting to do the FA a favour!

Considering how rare it is for Scotland to reach a major tournament, their loyal fans can be forgiven for wanting to make the most of the experience. Which means Germany is bracing itself for a serious influx of kilts and bagpipes over the next few weeks.

Fan representatives have managed to overturn a long-standing stadium ban on ‘mechanical sound-emitting devices’ (including bagpipes) ahead of the tournament.

And in a further boost to the Tartan Army, Sky Bet has now stepped in to cover the additional costs of getting the bagpipes into Germany. A ball hasn’t been kicked yet, but Germany already feel like winners.

Forget who is going to land the trophy in Berlin on July 14, because a survey to find who is the best looking boss at the Euros has taken place – with Julian Nagelsmann coming out on top.

England’s Southgate came fifth, with World Cup winning French boss Didier Deschamps scraping into the top ten. The focus of the footballing world might be on Germany this summer.

But one superstar who doesn’t appear too concerned about not being involved is Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.

While most of the sport’s biggest names get set for the big kick off in the coming weeks, a carefree Haaland has been living the high life in the glitzy resort of St Tropez on the Cote d’Azur.

Norway have not qualified, which means Haaland can spend his time relaxing on a luxury yacht and bombing around on jet skis. Not a bad second prize, to be fair.
