Wayne Lineker has broken his silence on social media after he was knocked unconscious by a drunken yob in a 4am Ibiza brawl.
Gary Lineker’s brother, 62, has taken to social media to speak out for the first time since being attacked and left unconscious in the early hours of yesterday morning (Wednesday, June 12).
The distressing event occurred outside Eden bar in San Antonio, Ibiza, shortly after Wayne had been involved in a heated exchange with a group of men who seemed to be harassing one of his female friends – with reports stating that he stood up for the pal, who is called Bunny according to reports.

Despite the ordeal, Wayne returned to Instagram to share a heartfelt birthday message for his son.
The dad-of-four shared a nostalgic video of his son Freddie playing with a hula hoop to mark his 20th birthday.
Alongside the video, Wayne wrote: “Sorry @freddie_lineker you won’t like me for this but as a dad it’s very special… Happy 20th birthday to my special handsome boy and superstar DJ… keep doing what’s you’re doing.”
He continued to express his pride in his son’s independence and achievements, adding: “Big things coming your way and to your credit without any help from me! ! ‘Dad I got this, Appreciate you wanting to help me but I need to do this myself.’
“So proud of you when you said this to me. Love you #my boy.”
One eyewitness says Wayne was left unconscious for as long as 20 minutes following an altercation with an aggressor on Wednesday morning.
According to an 18-year-old student from the UK who saw the whole scene unfold, the brawl was instigated when the troublemaker and his friends harassed a female friend of Wayne’s, thought to be in her 20s.
The witness said: “It was horrible – he looked like he could have been dead at one point. Wayne just fell on the floor and the man and his friends ran off.
“He was completely unconscious for about 20 minutes at least. He wasn’t really speaking much when he did eventually come back round.
“I stayed to help him and the police turned up but they weren’t there for long and didn’t really do much and left quickly,” The Sun reported.
Just a day prior to the ugly incident, the Ibiza club owner had shared a video on his Instagram account featuring himself and the female friend around whom the dispute occurred.
The post was captioned: “Bunny’s back.”
