Part of the UK the place individuals most certainly to grow to be National Lottery millionaires

Pack your bags and move to the South East, as the poshest parts of the nation have been revealed as the most likely areas of the UK to become a National Lottery millionaire.

Dubbed the “Millionaire Map,” new data shows that the area encompassing Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, Kent, Surrey and the Isle of Wight contribute to the most successful winning area in the British Isles.

With a whopping 975 millionaires since 1994, the map also shows that 5,859 people have also won prizes of £50k or more – not that that’ll buy you much in the areas listed, mind.

Coming second on the list is the Midlands, with 934 millionaires and 6,377 £50k+ prize winners. One of those was Jodie Scullion, who bagged £1million after winning the game she entered when she was bored.

She was holidaying on a caravan site in Brean Sands when boredom struck. So she decided to spend £5 and play the £1m Run For Your Money game on her Samsung phone, and bagged the big prize.

Next in line is London, coming third with 822 millionaire winners – to add to the plethora of eye-wateringly rich people already there – as well as 5,340 £50k+ prize winners. And just behind London, with two less millionaire winners is the North West, which also has 5,395 smaller prize winners.

The map makes grim reading for Northern Ireland

If all 820 millionaires banded together, they could afford to buy local football club Everton . . . but that would probably be a waste of dosh. The first part of the UK not located in England to make the list is Scotland, with 642 people winning the big prizes, and 3,733 people winning small but just as wonderful jackpots.

Scotland is also the place where £1million in cash sits in a building locked away in a plastic case for people to ogle over, for some reason.

Next up is the South West, followed by Wales, North East, and last but not least – although it is least in this case – is Northern Ireland.

Sadly for the Northern Irish lottery players, you might want to look elsewhere to solve your money worries, as just 174 millionaires have been made, with a shockingly low 916 £50k prize winners. That is just over half of the North East, which has 320 millionaires and 2,297 smaller prize winners.

So, if you’re looking to win big – move to one of the most expensive parts of the country. The answer was there all along . . .
