Kate Middleton dons merchandise with heartfelt hidden that means in return to public responsibility

Kate Middleton has been spotted wearing a very special item as she made her first official public appearance in months at Trooping the Colour.

The Princess of Wales was seen beaming at the crowds from the Glass Coach carriage, accompanied by Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. She was dressed in a white Jenny Packham ensemble, topped off with a matching Philip Treacy hat.

But one item in particular stood out to royal fans. Her dress was adorned with an a brooch that left some royal fans intrigued. The piece is an Irish Guards Regimental Brooch, a nod to her role as Colonel of the Irish Guards, reports the Mirror.

Kate holds several military titles, including Honorary Canadian Ranger, Honorary Air Commandant in the Royal Air Force Cadets, Commodore-in-Chief in the Fleet Air Arm and Colonel-in-Chief in the 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards.

In a touching mother-daughter tribute, Kate and Princess Charlotte coordinated their outfits with a nautical theme. Throngs of royal enthusiasts were thrilled at the looks as they lined the parade route in central London

Kate has not made an official public appearance since she was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. It was initially thought she might not attend today’s proceedings, but in an update revealed she is making “good progress” as she continues to receive treatment.

She said ahead of today’s celebrations: “I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months. It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times.

“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting.

“But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well. My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.”

King Charles, who is also battling cancer, also made a regal appearance at the event, trading his usual horseback for a carriage ride. This is his second official birthday, the first since he received his diagnosis.
