Robert Lewandowski was once left gobsmacked after learning his wife had been approached by a major MMA promotion.
The Barcelona forward, 35, is hitched to three-time karate world champion Anna Lewandowska, also 35. She bagged more than 40 titles during her active career, before retiring her black belt post after tying the knot with the Poland hero in 2013.
Over the past decade, she’s carved out a career as a nutritionist, personal trainer and TV host, while also raising their two daughters Klara and Laura.

But she was once offered a chance to return to combat sports in her homeland Poland by KSW boss Slawomir Peszko, who wanted her to venture into cage fighting.
Speaking to Polish podcast WojewodzkiKedzierski, she said: “I had a coffee with Slawomir Peszko, and he told me to try something new. He estimated that it would take two years of preparation. I told him that I wanted to discuss it with my husband first.”

However, the news leaked that Anna could follow in the footsteps of UFC legend Ronda Rousey before she was able to speak to Lewandowski: “I left the meeting and after an hour this information appeared in the media.
“My husband found out about it in the press and asked me, ‘Anna, what are you doing, what are these articles?’
Anna has pondered a career in mixed martial arts previously but dismissed the idea due to Lewandowski, who doesn’t seem thrilled at the prospect of her risking her good looks which have helped her amass an Instagram following of 5.3million.
“I once told Robert that if I wasn’t his wife, I would probably participate in such an event,” she confessed.
Lewandowski was part of Poland’s squad for Euro 2024 – but he played no role in their opening clash with the Netherlands due to a thigh injury.
