The award-winning chef cooking England’s meals during Euro 2024 has been banned from revealing the team’s menu.
German Danny Schwabe was awarded a prestigious Michelin star in 2023 – and is regarded as one of the best in the country. But before getting the gig to prepare all of the squad’s meals, he was made to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), preventing him from discussing details of the food,
England have taken two of their own chefs to their training base at the Weimar Spa & Golf Resort in Blankenhain. Schwabe leads a team of seven local chefs in cooking all the meals, which are then inspected by the two English cooks before being given to the players.

It’s understood the players have been eating huge portions of pasta, rice and chicken. While captain Harry Kane has been asking the chefs to prepare dishes of his favourite sushi.
Gareth Southgate places huge emphasis on what his squad eat, but has not banned any items like some of his predecessors did. But Southgate was so keen to make sure the food and facilities were up to scratch at the team hotel, he visited it five months before the tournament started to make a personal check things were up to standard.
Southgate insisted on being given a tour of the hotel’s kitchens, and even sampled the same food he knew would be served to his squad during the tournament.
