Fans have some extent – Alexander-Arnold should not get particular ‘Trent’ remedy

Commentators at the Euros have come under fire for referring to Trent Alexander-Arnold as ‘Trent’ during games.

Some of those behind the mic have been targeted on social media. While I’m not condoning that, just imagine if those same commentators referred to England stars Kane as ‘Harry’, Bellingham as ‘Jude’ or Walker as ‘Kyle’?

As one sage on social media put it. If the Liverpool vice-captain was called Ian Alexander-Arnold, there’s no way he’d be referred to as Ian during games. Fair point.

England stars will want for nothing when it comes to dining at their Euro 2024 base in Blankenhain.

Gareth Southgate and his players have seven restaurants to choose from at the Weimar Golf & Spa Resort. And whichever one they choose to eat in the food will be prepared by a chef with a Michelin star to his name.

Kylian Mbappe doesn’t struggle to stand out when strutting his stuff on the pitch.

But there will be another reason to spot him next time he takes to the field. The Real Madrid bound superstar broke his nose in France’s opening win over Austria.

So the French Football Federation have decided to have a special mask made for Mbappe, in the hope he will be able to play in the third group game. So Mbappe will have a mask to go with his Superman cape? Look out Poland.

Having lost the last Euros final on penalties, Gareth Southgate can be forgiven for being paranoid.

So it’s probably no surprise he’s leaving no stone unturned in his bud to go a step further this time round and win Euro 2024 in Germany.

Southgate is getting the England players to practice spot kicks every day after training. He picks no more than five each time and asks them to spend at least 30 minutes working on technique and temperament.
