Woman racks up £800 invoice at UK lodge earlier than leaving with out paying for something

A woman allegedly racked up a whopping bill of nearly £800 at a quaint family-run hotel, only to do a runner without paying a penny.

The crafty guest is said to have treated herself to meals and a cosy three-night stay at the Diplomat Hotel in Wales before pulling a disappearing act. The Llanelli hotel’s bosses are fuming after the woman booked her stay using what they reckon could be a bogus company name. From Monday, June 10 to Thursday that week, she’s accused of running up a hefty tab of £780.

On her first evening, she’s reported to have mingled with other patrons at the hotel bar and tucked into dinner, continuing to order grub on her second and third nights as well, according to Wales Online.

But after her three-day jolly, she allegedly scarpered without settling up. Paul Jenkins, the gaffer of the hotel, revealed he’s been ghosted by the woman and her card was declined when they tried to charge her even though a smaller pre-authorisation payment had initially gone through.

In a bid to track down the elusive guest, he’s taken to social media. Chatting to WalesOnline, he spilled: “The reception staff would have treated her like any other person checking in… she didn’t seem any different to anybody else”, reports the Manchester Evening News.

He lamented: “It’s unlikely we’re going to get any money [back]. My basic concern is that this goes out so nobody suffers the same thing. We don’t get it often but it is a revenue loss for the hotel… every day is important for us.”

The owner of a family-run hotel has called out a woman who allegedly left the premises without paying. He said: “It’s a family-run hotel and outgoings are quite a lot. We work hard as a family and our staff work hard.”

His message to the elusive patron is simply: “Just pay the bill.”
