A mum admitted to wearing tight clothes, but not for the reasons you might think.
Anneliese King, a content creator with more than 409,000 Instagram followers, uses her platform to discuss parenting issues – from daily stresses to body image misconceptions. In a recent post, she addressed the topic of curvy women‘s fashion choices.
She argued that they don’t wear revealing outfits or bikinis simply to attract “attention”. The mum also dismissed the idea that they’re trying to appear “sl***y”.

Instead, Anneliese explained that they’re just struggling to find clothes that fit properly. Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “We’re just here, having a hard time finding clothes that fit, but don’t make us look larger than we are and that minimise boob sweat.”
Anneliese continued: “It’s so hard to hate your body. To see something in the mirror, and then see something different in a photo. To see thin fit people and wonder why you just can’t look that way. I just am over it. Here I am. Like if you love me.”
Her post has since received more than 4,000 likes, with many women sharing their own experiences, and praising Anneliese for highlighting the issue with clothing sizes.
One follower commented: “I’m constantly trying to find bras, tops, swimsuits that minimise the size of my boobs! It’s been something I’ve tried to do since I was nine-years-old.”
Another woman chimed in with: “Women seriously need to stop shaming each other for how they look everybody’s different. You might not feel comfortable in those clothes but she does.
“Rock what makes you feel comfortable. Don’t bring someone else down because what that person is wearing makes you uncomfortable. Hell didn’t we get enough of that kind of shaming when growing up.”
A third woman also shared her thoughts, writing: “I spent a majority of my daughter’s nap today trying to decide what I would wear for out afternoon outing, worried that I’d offend people by showing too much skin. It’s also 90+ this entire week. The struggle to balance modesty and comfort is real.”

In the past, Anneliese has been candid about her clothing preferences. She once told her followers, if you feel like wearing clothes is the absolute worst, then she feels the same.
Despite this, she made the daring decision to start experimenting with looks she likes, even if she doesn’t resemble the models in magazines. She declared it’s the best thing she’s done, and she strongly advises not apologising for how you look.
After all, life is fleeting, so we should all start embracing life and living in the moment – no matter what it throws at us. She simply wants women to feel happier and more confident!
