Protester ‘defecates in Rishi Sunak’s lake’ earlier than being arrested on digicam

A man who allegedly defecated in the lake at Rishi Sunak’s North Yorkshire mansion has been arrested, with a video released by an activist group capturing the dirty protest.

Footage captured and posted online by protest group Youth Demand shows a man walking into a lake in Kirby Sigston before he crouches and poos in the water. The man, wearing a shirt with a slogan reading “eat s**t” Rishi, was reportedly among four men arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass at the property “within one minute” of entry at around 12.40pm on Tuesday.

The group, which included a 52-year-old from London, a 43-year-old from Bolton, a 21-year-old from Manchester and a 20-year-old from Chichester, were escorted off the property before their arrest. Youth Demand said the 21-year-old man from Manchester left a “parting gift” for the Prime Minister and the Conservative Government.

Youth Demand describes itself as a campaign calling for an arms embargo on Israel, as well as for the Government to revoke all new oil and gas licences granted since 2021. The group also left a message for the Prime Minister on its website, stating the defecating member had “sunk the Bismarck” as a “parting gift”.

The group said: “As a thank you and a parting gift to Rishi Sunak and the Tories for the last 14 years of service, a Youth Demand supporter has ‘sunk the Bismarck’ in Rishi Sunak’s lake. Youth Demand is a campaign calling for a two-way arms embargo on Israel and for the incoming UK government to revoke all new oil and gas licences granted since 2021.”
