England’s Anthony Gordon turns into butt of teammates’ jokes after falling off bike

England star Anthony Gordon has become the butt of his teammates’ jokes after taking a tumble on a bike ride.

The 23-year-old winger made his major tournament debut as a late substitute in the 0-0 draw with Slovenia on Tuesday (June 25) which crowned the Three Lions as Group C winners.

When he turned up to training two days later he was sporting a 2in gash to his chin, two cuts to his nose, scratches on the back of both hands and a large plaster on his left leg.

Asked about the Newcastle United star’s injuries England defender Marc Guehi, 23, said with a laugh: “He fell off his bike.

“The boys went out on a bike ride. I actually wasn’t there.

“I heard about it and I was actually talking to him but not paying attention to him.

“Then he turned around and I saw that massive gash on his chin.

“But he’s OK, he’s OK. He just fell off his bike.

“It’s been a bit of a joke in camp but he’s doing well.’’
