Jay Slater’s finest pal heard him ‘slipping on rocks’ in chilling final video name

A friend of missing Brit Jay Slater said he could hear his pal slipping on rocks during a chilling final video call.

Brad, who had also been on holiday with Jay spoke about the last time he heard from his pal on the phone. Describing the last moments he saw him, Brad told This Morning’s Isla Traquair that while he was on the phone to Jay, he could hear his “feet sliding down the hill”.

The young lad said: “Yeah that’s how I knew he went off the road. You could hear like when you walk on gravel, stones.”

Explaining the fateful call, Brad said: “He was on the phone and he goes: ‘I’ve got walk and go all down that road’.

“And he goes over a drop, a tiny little drop – not a big drop – and he said ‘i’ll ring you back, i’ll ring you back’.

“Because I think someone else were ringing him, and if he were thinking like me he would have went back up and started walking round the path again, he wouldn’t have gone all that way down there.”

Brad then added that he “knew he [Jay] went off the road” because he could hear loose earth beneath the Lancashire lad’s feet.

Asked was he concered at that point he said: “Not at the time no because we were both laughing about it, he said ‘look where I am!’ and I’d just come out of a festival myself.

“He didn’t seem concerned on the phone, until we knew how far away he were. We said put your location on and he said it’s a 15 minute drive or a 14-hour walk.”
