Stunned shoppers filmed a thief as he stuffed KitKats, Bounty and Twirl bars into a holdall.
When challenged, the brazen shoplifter tried to justify his actions by muttering: “I don’t rob houses, I don’t rob grannies.”

The raid took place at a busy Co-op in Kenley, south London, which has been targeted by gangs of crooks.
A video of the raid was posted on the Next Door website with the comment: “Five/six scumbags got off the train at Kenley and raided the Co-op. Staff didn’t even bother calling the police.”
Local resident George Catten, 54, said: “They were in and out and back on the train long before the police would ever get there.” While Liela Ali said: “It frightens me that people are so blatant and they have no fear of the law.”
In April it was revealed shoplifting offences are their highest in 20 years. The Met Police and Co-op were asked to comment.
