A woman has been charged with misconduct in public office over video allegedly showed a prison guard having sex with an inmate in Wandsworth Prison.
Linda De Sousa Abreu, 30, has been taken into police custody and is set to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Monday (July 1), Met Police said.
The force launched an investigation on Friday (June 28) “after officers were made aware of a video allegedly filmed inside HMP Wandsworth” in southwest London.
Alarm bells were first raised when a clip allegedly showed a prison worker appearing to perform a sex act on a lag as another inmate recorded the alleged tryst, the Daily Star previously reported. The pair then appear to have sex.
A voice can be heard, which allegedly said: “Guys, we’ve made history, this is what I’m telling you. You know you’re gangster innit!”
