Woman ‘mortified’ as airport safety mistake energy financial institution for awkward merchandise

A woman was left absolutely mortified at the airport when her innocuous power bank sparked a security scare and a rather blush-inducing mix-up.

She was pulled aside for a routine hand luggage check that quickly turned into an embarrassing interrogation, as baffled security staff mistook her phone’s power bank for a knife and then, to her horror, a sex toy.

Taking to Twitter/X with a snap of the cheeky gadget, she shared how the mortifying moment would “haunt” her for ages. Her tweet about the backpacking blunder has gone viral, featuring the Diablo III-themed power bank from Blizzcon.

The flustered flyer recounted: “I got stopped at security at the airport and they asked me if I had a knife, which of course I didn’t. Then they awkwardly asked if I had a ‘self pleasuring device’ in my backpack and I was HORRIFIED… Turns out it was my Blizzcon exclusive Diablo III Soulstone Power Bank.”

Twitter/X users couldn’t help but chuckle at her expense, with one asking just how cringe-worthy the ordeal was. She replied with a shudder: “10/10 Will haunt me for a while.”

Another user quipped: “The person who asked that was almost hoping you’d say a knife so they didn’t have to ask the follow-up question.”

Meanwhile, a third shared their own bizarre encounter: “Yo, the exact thing happened to me at the airport with this same power bank. They pulled me aside and said ‘what is this, it looks awkward’.”

You can still snag the Diablo III Soulstone Power Bank from some online retailers in the States. The official description for the gadget reads: “Not only is this power bank useful, it is sure to attract some attention wherever it is used.

“Simply press a button to illuminate the translucent Soulstone and highlight this awesome replica in your office or anywhere you go.”
